Future-Ready Students Start With Strong Foundations Today

Your students deserve science, engineering, and computer science instruction that connects to the real world. Latimer Energy Academy brings hands-on projects—aligned to NGSS and CCSS Math, with integrated coding, sensors, and data analysis—rooted in real energy systems, real data, and real tools. No separate CS period required. Built-in assessment shows you exactly what students understand and where they need support.

Why This Matters Now

Too many students pass through school without building strong enough science, math, engineering, and computer science foundations early enough to matter. Most don’t see the gaps until the work gets harder. By then, foundational skill deficits become harder and more expensive to fix.

Latimer Energy Academy works differently. Our projects find weak spots early—and provide the hands-on engagement and data-backed proof that lets you fix them while there’s still room to grow. Students who use real tools, real data, and real energy systems develop visible capability. They can explain what they’ve learned. Adults see clearly who needs more support and who’s ready to advance.

What LEA Changes in Your Classrooms

Three concrete outcomes your teachers and administrators will see.

Engaged students doing real work.

Physics and algebra shift from abstract to concrete when students measure actual electricity consumption, optimize a real microgrid model, or analyze air quality data from sensors they deployed. The work has stakes. Students feel the momentum of discovery.

No separate computer science overload.

Coding logic integrates directly into science and math projects. One teacher, one classroom period, same academic block. Students learn programming in context—solving energy problems, not solving abstract programming puzzles in isolation.

Visible student mastery.

Every project produces a real deliverable: a technical design, a data analysis, an engineering briefing. Built-in assessments map to NGSS and CCSS Math, with integrated evaluation of computing and data skills. You get actionable insight into what each student can do.

Computer Science Without Schedule Expansion

The reality: most schools cannot add another special topic course. Latimer Energy Academy solves this by weaving computer science and coding logic directly into your existing science and math blocks. One teacher leads the entire project. Students learn science, engineering, math, and coding logic together on the same project.

This is not a workaround. This is how modern technical work actually happens. Real engineers don’t solve problems in separate silos. Neither should your students.

  • Real coding on actual devices, not simulations
  • Data collection, interpretation, and evidence-based claims
  • Computer science practices embedded throughout NGSS science instruction
  • No separate CS elective or tech teacher required

The Pilot Program

Not ready to commit to a full license yet? Our guided pilot implementation lets your school run real projects with real students—scoped to your timeline and capacity—while providing direct feedback to shape the platform.

Pilot participants work at the leading edge of Latimer Energy Academy. Subsidized pilot pricing is available for schools with limited resources. Pilots convert to full licenses upon completion.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do teachers need a science background to run these projects?
No. Any teacher can lead these projects. You get complete lesson guides, videos to help you prepare, step-by-step instructions, hardware inventories, and ongoing support from our team. You lead the session and own the teaching interaction. LEA gives you everything you need to teach this well.
How is assessment built in?
Every project includes rubrics mapped to NGSS and CCSS Math performance expectations, with integrated assessment of computing and data skills. Students are evaluated on real deliverables: engineering designs, lab work, data analysis, and technical briefings. You see exactly what each student understands in real time.
How does this fit into our existing schedule?
Projects are designed for your standard science period, math block, or elective slot. One teacher, one classroom. No special scheduling required, unless that's your preference. Projects can run for a couple of weeks or a few months depending on your pacing.
Is student privacy protected?
Yes. Students never create accounts to access our materials. They access sessions under adult control with a simple, private entry process that collects no personal information.
What standards do you cover?
NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards) and CCSS (Common Core State Standards) Math. Every project integrates computing and data analysis practices aligned to K-12 computer science frameworks. Complete reference materials are included for curriculum review and professional development planning.
Can we start with one classroom and scale?
Yes. Districts or schools can start with a pilot classroom or grade level to build internal evidence, then scale based on success.
How does pricing work?
Three paths: pilot programs (initial implementation cycle, discounted), school-site licenses (one campus), or district licenses (multi-campus with professional development and analytics). Contact us for pricing based on your scope and scale.
Can we implement Latimer Energy Academy on a self-serve basis?
You access Latimer through supported partnership — we provide curriculum, implementation support, and professional development for your team. We're also developing a self-serve platform for future independent distribution.
